For years, our founders watched people cycle through specialists in search of help for symptoms that didn’t fit neatly into any one box. The diagnoses, when they finally came, had names most doctors had barely heard of: chronic fatigue syndrome / myalgic encephalomyelitis, dysautonomia, orthostatic intolerance, postural orthostatic tachycardia, mast cell activation syndrome, long COVID. The treatments existed. The clinicians who understood how to use them did not, at least not anywhere close to home, and rarely with an opening sooner than a year out.

And then there was something worse than not finding care. We watched patients get turned away from it. People dismissed at the front desk once their chart was reviewed. Practices that quietly stopped scheduling them after a certain diagnosis appeared. Clinicians who decided the case was “too complex,” or who simply didn’t believe the symptoms were real. The same diagnosis that should have unlocked a treatment plan was, again and again, the reason a patient was sent back out the door.

That gap, between the science of immune overactivation and autonomic dysfunction and the day-to-day reality of getting care for it, is why Enyd exists.
